Cupcakes....Iz crave themzzzz badddd today......
Two design projects that I can finally show off and a couple of random graphics that I've made over the past couple of days as a distraction....

Game of Thrones graphic - and OMG just got the email notification that my BluRay box set of Season One has shipped!!!! I'll be doing a GoT marathon as soon as that arrives!!! I cannot wait for April 1st!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! I need my Lord Snow!!!

One of my other guilty pleasure shows is Once Upon A Time...this is Snow White and of course her Prince Charming. padabee, you should see your colouring influence on this one *winks*

Random graphics are great therapy! Hee!

Okay, one of my clients has uploaded his book to Amazon, so I believe it safe to finally show off the cover that I created for his eBook 'Echo'....I had a grand time creating this!

Pete was really fun to work with and I've been enjoying getting to know him as well. The book is now available for purchase on Amazon - sounds like a really cool SciFi adventure! I'll be promoting this over the next week or so whenever Pete starts posting about it on the social networks.

Deborah Cater just asked me to release the book trailer that I'd recently finished for her as well. She'll be doing a marketing push shortly, but in the mean time the trailer is now 'public' on YouTube! Her book is available through Lulu.com HERE.

Had a chiropractor adjustment this afternoon - so back is now straight again. LOL I'm a bit sore, but I needed it. Not much accomplished on the work front though as I wasn't on the computer much at all today. Had a lovely chat with BFF sasha_b this morning before she headed off to her yoga class. I hope you enjoyed your day off honey! ♥

I'm working on a website design and a couple of book covers this week....and just did an eBook cover for Helen Hollick which will be out very soon.

Cold and sunny day. Not much else to report. Finished reading The Eagle last night...so I think I'll begin Outlander next.

I should see to dinner.

Love to you all!!

Pretty graphics! :)

I'm curious if you read many of the books you do covers for. Is that how you get ideas, or do the authors come to you first with ideas of their own on how they want a cover to look?

Hope your box set arrives soon--yay for marathons! \o/ I'm trying to decide what I want to watch next. My brother said he really loved The Tudors and the entire series is available on Netflix instant queue... *ponders*

Thank you m'dear!

Most of the time I'm designing for books that are not published yet, so typically I design based on the author's input and from a synopsis of the yet to be published book. I typically write a complimentary copy of the book into my contracts so I get a copy, and I do try to get around to reading as many client novels as I can. A perk to my job is definitely the books! *laughs*

I loved the Tudors! I think you'd enjoy it too! Lots of drama and gorgeous sets and costumes! I wasn't sure that I could accept Jonathan R. Meyers as Henry VIII as he looks nothing at all like the man - but he won me over - stellar performance.

Free books is an excellent perk! :D

Sadly I had internet issues right after my post last night so I couldn't watch the Tudors. Then I ended up dozing off VERY early! My daughter came into my room around 9 pm to find me asleep already, lol Somehow I'm still tired after nearly 10 hours of sleep though, sheesh! Probably slept too much--I generally average 6 to 7 hours, if I'm lucky.

Maybe I'll get a chance to start Tudors tonight, although I should probably watch a movie Blue Valentine, which I think I've had for at least a month now!

I hope you can begin watching The Tudors!! Let me know what you think! I have not watched Blue Valentine yet myself - so tell me your thoughts on that if you watch it tonight.

Reading my mind
i had a really vague idea what i wanted for my cover but didn't tell Cathy. She sent me down to waterstones to come back with a list of covers that i liked. from that she created the first draft which is similar to the version shown, then tweaked it.

remarkably, what she came up with is not so far away from what i had in my head. I'm impressed

Re: Reading my mind
Hi Pete!! You gave me more information on the book than you give yourself credit for! I was able to get a good feel for the story and characters from the draft that you sent for me to read ;) I hope the sales grow over the coming weeks! And I hope the sequel is coming along well.

And it was a true pleasure working with you on the cover for Echo - my first futuristic cover!!

I'm impressed, too! Thanks for sharing that with me, Pete. And best of luck with your new book!
